Boyd is also the creator and producer of "Behind the Paws" a student news program. She created the first NOOK Street Lit. Book Club for Teens in the country. An advocate for school libraries, Boyd is also the author of “The Audacious Librarian” and “Miss Domino” blogs where she documents her work with high school students, discusses effective use of technology in K-12 education and reviews books for teens/adults. Boyd is a sought after and popular conference presenter at the local, state and national levels. During the 2012-2013 school year, she was awarded the coveted, 'Chicago Public Schools Ones to Watch Award' and has been inducted into the 'Chicago Public Schools Librarian Hall of Fame.' She is currently featured on the Chicago Public Schools 'Social Media Toolkit Page' and has been named a 'Social Media Trailblazer'. Boyd mentors new librarians and teaches the courses, Children and Young Adult Literature and Multi-Cultural Literature at Chicago State University.
